Headline for Book Review: Overcoming the Odds of Adversity
John Bevere does a great job with explaining all of the ways in which individuals can overcome any modern day adversity. He places scriptures right where they need to be in order to back of his claims. For example the first chapter starts out by this quote: “Finishing is better than starting.” Ecclesiastics 7:8 (NLT). What is so prevalent today is that if we all learn how to focus on the end results of glorifying God then all of the in-between life lessons can be an opportunity to set our lives right. In order to accomplish what Christ has set for our Christian walk we must all be relentless by being resolute, persistent, and unyielding in our day-to-day witness for Christ. God has written our names in the “Lambs book of Life” and we need to carry out His plan for our lives.
I would recommend this book to any Christian who has some knowledge of what the scriptures say about our lives. John teaches how to come out of this world and be separate from the current worldly ways into the proper ways of living for Christ. In the end we finish for Christ and with Christ for us, who can be against us? It’s never too late to rededicate our lives to Christ and His ways of life.
