Headline for Book Review: What will tomorrow bring to the average firefighter is just a mystery to be uncovered.
I loved the Television series True Blood being a vampire thriller and this book is a page turner that kept me guessing. Just when I thought I figured out a detail a twist takes place to keep my eyes moving across the pages.
Colt is the main character who is a Los Angeles County Fire paramedic and stationed in Malibu. This is his only dream. Colt arrives at the scene of an accident and finds a deputy kneeling next to a girl wearing a blue T shirt, lying on her back. The net thing Colt sees is that the girl’s leg is gone. Colt has a job to do and he does just that by comforting his victim. The deputy says that the accident happened 15 minutes ago, at 1420. The dispatch was a Code 3 but they should have called it Code Blood by the way the blood oozed out of the girl.
Colt goes into a wild and mysteries search which takes him into the connected lives of a graduate research student, with the rarest blood in the world and the vampire fetish who is stalking her. Within the corridors of high-stakes medical research laboratories, the shadow world of body parts dealers, and the underground Goth clubs of Los Angeles, Lewis uncovers a tangled maze of needles, drugs and maniacal ritual, all of which lead to death. But whose death? An unusual and fast-paced thriller.
I would recommend anyone who loves thriller, suspense, or even fiction to read this tantalizing book.
